MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer | Bargin Alert!!!

17 February 2016
Have you ever found a product, either make up or clothes, that you've been so wow'd by that you've needed to buy every colour available? In my 20 years of life this has only really happened to me twice. The most recent being the MUA Velvet Lips Lacquers line...

I'll be honest with all of you, I'm not as into drugstore makeup as I once was. But it will always have a place in my heart, there's always be the odd gem that I will fall in love with and use forever. I recently met up with one of my best friends over coffee, and I complimented her on her lipstick choice and naturally asked her what it was fully expecting her to say MAC or something like that, so you can imagine the shock when she told me it was MUA, fall on jaw dropping wow, only costing her £3!

After that, I'll admit that I went a little crazy and choose 15 colours... A Flush, Atomic, Criminal, Dash, Funk, Halcyon, Harmony, Kooky, Moxie, Passion, Reckless, Serene, Tranquility, Vivacity and Zest. I just wanted to have them all, and with such a small price (and a cheeky 20% off my first order for signing up to the MUA newsletter) I basically paid peanuts for them. My favourite shade has to be 'Dash' as it's a gorgeous (but not too deep) plum purple shade....annnnnnd the name reminds me of the Kardashians.

It surprised me how pigmented the formula is, you have a solid colour without having to layer the product on your lips. I hate when lip products are too opaque or glossy, but these have a solid matte colour which I absolutely love! Once the formula is on your lips, it takes about a minute to dry but once it's dry there is virtually no budging. It passes the drink/kiss test (once dry) which shocked me the most, I took a swig of my drink expecting to see the classic lip marks but nothing... Even the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks which are double the price leave lip marks on everything it touches.

The only down side is if there is too much layered on it can get a little flakey, so you have only one chance to perfect your lip. And after a couple of hours you will need a top up the colour but I feel like these are a very small price to pay considering the quality you are getting with the extremely cheap price tag of £3!

Have you tried the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers?
